We are seeking a special individual to join our team as the Director of Media Services. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your proven experience in developing successful integrated marketing campaigns across multiple devices and media channels. As a key member of our leadership team, you’ll need to be highly analytical, strategic, and collaborative. Working closely with account, strategy, finance, and creative teams, you’ll lead and inspire a growing team of talented media specialists, fostering a culture of positivity, enthusiasm, inclusion, and excellence.
Responsibilities:
As the Director of Integrated Media, your responsibilities will include:
- Vision and Strategy: Set the vision for the Media Services team and establish its organizational structure.
- Innovative Media Strategies: Develop fully integrated media strategies that seamlessly blend all media platforms.
- Client Alignment: Create comprehensive media strategies aligned with clients’ goals, budgets, and KPIs.
- Execution Oversight: Oversee work from strategy to planning to activation, ensuring optimization to deliver exceptional client value.
- Team Leadership: Lead scope and budget discussions, assign tasks, set objectives, and monitor progress to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
- Collaboration: Play a critical role across all accounts, collaborating closely with clients, account services, and creative teams.
- Growth Opportunities: Identify organic growth opportunities and proactively propose solutions to address client business needs and challenges.
- New Business Development: Actively participate in agency new business initiatives.
- Innovation: Embrace SMZ’s “DO MORE” value by staying ahead of new media trends and platforms, pushing the envelope of where experience meets excellence.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrate expertise in budgeting, billing, and staffing.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, business, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in media planning and buying across multiple channels.
- Deep knowledge of multi-channel marketing and understanding of channel roles in brand marketing.
- Strong expertise in demand generation media approaches and measurement solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, effective team management, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Client service experience, including the ability to deliver strong points of view, listen, and provide counsel.
- Proven track record of managing and leading teams in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the agency, fostering cross-functional teamwork and results.
- Strategic thinking with a balanced analytical and creative approach to tactical planning.
- Proficiency in media planning and buying software/tools.
- Research experience, including working with various forms of data and information.
- Passion for data, analytics, and digital combined with a solid understanding of traditional media (television, radio, outdoor, print, etc.).
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Bonus: Additionally, experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and familiarity with the Wrike project management platform would be advantageous.
How We Work:
SMZ operates on a hybrid work model. While we require a minimum of two days (Wednesday & Thursday!) working in the office, additional office days may be necessary based on efficiency and client service demands. Flexibility is key, as being relied upon by clients and colleagues may occasionally require working evenings or weekends to meet project deadlines.
