SMZ welcomes Kelsey Sedlmeyer standard

Jamie Michelson, president of SMZ (Simons Michelson Zieve Advertising Inc.), announced the hiring of Kelsey Sedlmeyer at the Troy-based agency. Sedlmeyer is a Michigan State University graduate with a degree in Creative Advertising and a Specialization in Design. She interned with SMZ in the creative department and has officially joined the team as a junior art director. When not working, Sedlmeyer enjoys the beach and is a Netflix connoisseur. Community Choice Credit Union Wins at CUNA Marketing Awards image

SMZ and its Community Choice Credit Union client were honored with four Diamond Awards at CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council’s annual meeting in Las Vegas, March 25-28. The awards were for a Best in Category Radio – Single, along with Diamond Awards for Complete Campaign, Brand/Corporate Identity and Plastic Access Card Design. SMZ welcomes Brad Chapman image

Say hello to Brad Chapman who is interning in SMZ’s finance department this summer. Brad is completing his Bachelor of Accountancy at Walsh College in June and plans to continue his studies in the fall.  Brad keeps busy working at Pet Supplies Plus (a plus for all the SMZ animal lovers!)  He likes to spend the warmer weather at his family’s lake cabin and is an avid snowboarder in the winter. A Bill of sale: advice from a newly retired ad pro standard

A few of us recently checked in with retired SMZ Executive Vice President Bill Muir.  Not surprisingly Bill hasn’t slowed down a bit.  He’s remodeling his kitchen (we really miss his baked goods around here), continuing his woodworking projects—the ones he’s built for his grandchildren are to-die-for cute and he has lots of travel planned.  As an aside, Bill says shopping at Costco on a Monday or Tuesday is heavenly and they STILL have the free food samples!  Here are a few more thoughts from Bill who enjoyed over 40 years in the ad business. Botsford Hospital Ads Selected As Best In Class at Healthcare Marketing Awards standard

Jamie Michelson, President and CEO of SMZ announced today that the agency’s work for Botsford Hospital was recognized at the 32nd Healthcare Advertising Awards.   Sponsored by the healthcare industry’s Healthcare Marketing Report, the publication annually recognizes the nation’s most outstanding healthcare communications programs. Botsford was awarded a gold in the radio series for their patient spots campaign and a merit award for the hospital’s television production of the patient ads concept. Botsford and the SMZ team have an over decade-long history of building recognizable, distinctive marketing programs for the hospital together.
