SMZ Goes Out to the Ball game
Troy, Mich. — (July 15, 2008) — What do you do after your agency creates a successful marketing campaign for an American League-contending baseball team? Cheer them on as they seek the championship! Simons Michelson Zieve Advertising Inc. (SMZ), creators of the popular Detroit Tigers’ “Who’s Your Tiger?” campaign, were in the stands as their client beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-7 on June 25.
“The Tigers are a first-class organization and such a fun client to work for, considering we’re all big fans,” said SMZ Chairman Jim Michelson. “It’s great going down to Comerica Park as a group and seeing the excitement our collective efforts generate in fellow Tigers fans.”
About 30 SMZ staff members attended the June 25 Tigers game for the agency’s summer outing. SMZ rented a bus that took employees from its Troy office to Comerica Park. Once there staffers were treated to a picnic dinner featuring salads, hot dogs, burgers, chips, pizza and beverages. The rain didn’t daunt the spirits of the SMZers. In fact, this is the fourth year the company outing has been at a Tigers game and coincidentally it has rained each year during the outing!
The Tigers aren’t the only local favorite SMZ is proud to call a client. Among the many clients SMZ is agency of record for are the Detroit Red Wings, Fisher Theatre, Big Boy Restaurants International, Kar’s Nuts, Michigan Lottery and Taubman Centers, owners of Twelve Oaks Mall and the Mall at Partridge Creek, among other shopping centers around the country.
“We love working with regional and national clients,” Michelson said, “but it’s a special privilege to be trusted by the companies and organizations that are a part of daily life for Detroiters just like us.”
